Abstract: According to the actual situation of Jinchuan Nickel Mine, a new foaming agent BK-206 has been successfully developed, which has the characteristics of fast foaming speed, strong foaming ability and low price. Small-scale experiments and industrial tests show that BK-206 has good adaptability in Jinchuan Nickel Mine. Replacement of J622 in production with BK-206 foaming agent not only improves nickel recovery in concentrate, but also reduces magnesium content in concentrate. And can save nearly 2 million yuan in pharmacy costs every year.

The foaming agent has an indispensable mineral processing agent in the flotation process. The type, amount and selectivity of the blowing agent must be considered in the flotation process. Due to historical reasons, many mines in China have been used to using pine oil for many years. However, the pine oil has its own disadvantages, and its flotation foam is relatively sticky. For different beneficiation processes, it is difficult to achieve the ideal beneficiation index in many cases. The main chemical component of pine oil is a ring structure, which is relatively difficult to biodegrade. In today's environment of environmental protection, people are cautious about their use.
Synthetic foaming agents are the development of the chemical synthesis industry. Production practices have demonstrated that a significant number of synthetic foaming agents in many respects exceed the flotation properties of natural foaming agents. They are stable in source, large in production, and superior in flotation efficiency and production cost. With the development of China's chemical industry, China's chemical and petrochemical products and synthetic flotation foaming agent used in the production practice are more and more people's attention.
Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Company's concentrator is China's largest nickel concentrator. The concentrator has been in the factory since its establishment. Continuous development and growth, the current processing capacity of 10,000t / d, can handle both rich and rich types of ore. The beneficiation process uses two sections of grinding, one section of grinding and two sections of grinding and floating respectively to obtain nickel concentrate. The collector mainly uses butyl xanthate, but also ethyl butyl xanthate and butyl ammonium black medicine. The foaming agent J622 has a certain collector, and various adjusting agents are also used to reduce the magnesium oxide content in the concentrate.
The foaming agent used by Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. in the past was pine oil. Because the flotation foam of pine oil was sticky, it was often difficult to obtain satisfactory indicators in production. Therefore, the research institutes jointly developed J622 with better performance. The foaming agent met the production needs of the time. With the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous improvement of production requirements, the concentrator requires a better foaming agent to solve the problems in current production. In the past few years, as the international nickel price continued to fall, raw material prices continued to rise, and corporate performance showed a downward trend. Therefore, it is imperative to reduce the cost of mineral processing and improve the economic efficiency of enterprises. Reducing the cost of mineral processing chemicals is one of the most direct means for enterprises to tap potential and improve economic efficiency.
Based on the production needs of Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. and the successful experience in foaming agent research for many years, we have successfully developed a new foaming agent BK-206. The foaming agent is well adapted to the production needs of Jinchuan Concentrator, the ore dressing index is good, the dosage of the agent is small, the cost of the beneficiation agent is greatly reduced, and the enterprise brings greater economic benefits.
1 ore nature
Two rich ore mine belongs Nickel Mining serpentine type nickel sulfide copper ore, ore mineral composition complicated. The main metallic nickel minerals pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and a small amount of alteration products, such as pyrite purple ink copper, pyrite. The metal nickel mineral has good originality, the vulcanization rate is 96%, and the oxidation rate of copper mineral is 13.33%, and there are nearly 10% of secondary copper sulfide. The gangue minerals are mainly serpentine, followed by alteration products such as olivine, pyroxene, tremolite , chlorite, mica and carbonate.
2 Physicochemical properties of BK-206 foaming agent
BK-206 foaming agent is chemically processed from petrochemical products. The foaming agent has a high active ingredient and mainly contains a higher fatty alcohol and an ether ester compound. The appearance is light yellow and light brown oily transparent liquid, slightly soluble in water, miscible with organic solvents such as alcohol and ketone, and the product density is 0.84~0.87. The foaming agent has the characteristics of fast foaming speed and strong foaming ability. The product has stable performance, wide source of raw materials, low production cost, low price and low toxicity, which is beneficial to environmental protection.
3 foaming agent foaming performance test
The foaming performance of the two agents J622 and BK-206 was examined.
The following are the effects of the amount of two blowing agents and the pH of the solution on the foaming of the blowing agent.
The relationship between the amount of BK-206 and J622 foaming agents and the foam height after foaming is shown in Fig. 1.

The effect of solution pH on the foaming performance of the two foaming agents is shown in Table 1.

It can be seen from the foaming performance test of the foaming agent that compared with J622, the foaming performance of the foaming agent BK-206 is obviously stronger than that of J622 in terms of the amount of the agent, when the foam heights of the two are the same, The amount of BK-206 is roughly 1/3 of J622. The pH value of the solution has little effect on the two foaming agents, and the foam height has almost no change, that is, the two foaming agents are less affected by the pH value of the solution. .

4 Beneficiation test of BK-206 foaming agent
4.1 Small ore dressing test
The ore dressing test ore sample is taken from the graded overflow sample at the production site.
The test conducted a comparative test on three foaming agents of pine oil, J622 and BK-206. Other flotation conditions are unchanged, the fineness of grinding is 65%-74μm, the second section is 80%-74μm, and 1100g/t ammonium sulfate is added during grinding. The ore dressing water is returned to the site.
A rough selection showed that BK-206 has the strongest foaming ability among the three foaming agents, and a higher recovery rate can be obtained at a lower dosage. Under the similar recovery index, the amount is better than that of pine alcohol. The oil and J622 are much less.
For the rough selection results, the full open and closed circuit tests of the three drugs were carried out. The closed circuit test process is shown in Figure 2, and the test results are shown in Table 2.

The test conducted a closed-circuit test on three kinds of minerals for each of the three minerals. The test results showed that among the three agents, the best indicator was BK-206, and the worst was pine oil. The least amount of the drug is BK-206, and the most is pine oil. The total amount of the pine oil, J622, and BK-206 was 68.8, 59.4, and 25.3 g/t, respectively.
The results of small ore dressing test show that the BK-206 foaming agent not only completely replaces the J622 currently used by Jinchuan Concentrator, but also greatly reduces the dosage of the agent and reduces the cost of ore dressing.
4.2 Industrial test
In order to better verify the actual use effect of BK-206 foaming agent in industrial production, Jinchuan Company's concentrator on the basis of small ore dressing test, from August 25 to October 7, 1998 to BK-206 and J622 The two agents were subjected to an industrial parallel comparison test. The test and production system indicators are shown in Table 3.

The results of industrial tests show that under the conditions of equivalent ore grade and concentrate grade, the recovery rate of nickel concentrate is slightly improved when BK-206 is used, and the content of magnesium oxide in concentrate is slightly decreased; the ratio of BK-206 is J622. The amount of use is much less, about 70% reduction; BK-206 has strong foaming performance and stable foam, which is beneficial to the production operation. Industrial trials are in good agreement with small results.
5 Pharmacy consumption and economic benefit assessment
The consumption of other flotation reagents during the industrial test was basically the same and was treated as normal. Only the BK-206 and J622 agents and consumption costs are calculated here. The unit price of both is the internal use price of Jinchuan. Table 4 shows the unit cost of the two agents.

If the calculation of the 2.2 million tons of rich ore in the second mining area is handled in the whole year according to the dressing mill's grinding and floating years, then all the BK-206 will be used instead of J622. The concentrating plant can save the foaming agent cost of 1,866,500 yuan per year.
If the benefits of increased recovery and improved concentrate grade and reduced magnesium oxide content of concentrates are taken into account, the benefits of using BK-206 instead of J622 will be even more significant.
6 conclusion
1. BK-206 foaming agent is chemically processed from petrochemical products. It has a wide range of raw materials, simple synthesis process, low production cost, fast foaming speed and strong foaming power.
2. The small ore dressing test showed that BK-206 foaming agent has strong foaming ability. Among the three agents of pine oil, J622 and BK-206, BK-206 has the best beneficiation index. Not only can the recovery index of the main mineral be guaranteed, but also the indicator of magnesium oxide can be guaranteed. Industrial tests have shown that under the conditions of the original ore grade and the concentrate grade, the recovery rate of nickel concentrate is slightly improved when BK-206 is used, and the content of magnesium oxide in the concentrate is slightly decreased.
3. BK-206 foaming agent is not only used in a small amount, but also has a reduced price, and its dosage is reduced by about 70% compared with J622. If you use BK-206 instead of J622, you can save nearly 2 million yuan for the concentrator.
4. It is recommended that the Jinchuan Nonferrous Metals Company concentrator fully promote the use of BK-206 foaming agent after gradual adaptive use.
